Google has released a new app called the Google Now Launcher on to the Play Store that includes Chrome Beta browser and SoundSearch. This app is available available only on the Google’s own Nexus devices and Google Play Edition devices that will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat or above. The devices running on customs ROM’s that is based on KitKat like the CyanogenMod 11 may also be compatible.
From the name of the app, that suggests one of the main features of the Google Now Launcher is its quick access to Google Now. This application can be accessed with a just a swipe to the right while from the home screen. This is much easier and quick method than some of the other methods of accessing Google Now. The Google Now Launcher also includes support for saying “Ok Google” to initiate a voice search
This new feature doesn’t appear to be a big difference as the layout still remains the same with the Google Now panel and customizable home screen panels. However this app will be only available for the Nexus devices and GPe hardware only maybe we can see next version of this might be supporting many other Android devices.
